It's just occurred to me that we occasionally see someone tooling along the motorway at high speed yet they're usually lined with CCTV cameras.

Do people ever get prosecuted on the basis of "evidence" gathered by these cameras?

I'd imagine they will once the CCTV are all converted to ANPR (number plate recognition), and when a court (usefully, NOT!) decides that two identical number plates => two identical cars.

Anyone into physics care to put forward a reasonable "wormhole defence" once this happens?

There could be some sensational speed records set where two identical cars are involved. I wonder how long it would be before someone is prosecuted for exceeding the speed of light?

How long before lcd number plate ( totaly illegal , we'll find) are avaivable that use a permutation of your real plate ,with an override switch, just in case a human cop comes along.

Mmmmmm

Now if a few people were to get their number plates mixed up and record "stupid" speeds that would go a long way to casting doubt on the ............
