Have seen this twice now, once on foot & another time getting out of patrol car, uniformed officers in our area (Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire) wearing waistcoats over uniform with letters/numbers like an opticians eye chart.

Any ideas what this is about?

Looks rather silly

Are they sponsored by Specsavers, because every time they approach a suspect they say "aye aye"?

Do you think we ought to encourage the scamera operators to wear a target?

Fluorescent orange tabards were known colloquially in Northern Ireland as "shoot me jackets" anyway.

I can't remember what the letters were, there were also numbers. Once was patroling round a local show, (should've asked but they were busy with locals at the beer tent) the other as I was driving past a couple getting out of a car. On both occasions the officers had identical markings to their colleague. What's K B then?
