Un-Natural Justice UK Stylee: Speeding vs Shoplfting
Discussion
Previously we had this:
But wait...
Essex man has spoken. Maybe he's a woman
but probably not.
OK, in fact he or she has written - all over ten speed camera warning signs in Colchester. See the artistry for yourselves:
This is clearly a serious crime, ostensibly more serious than drifting a knife into someone, as the police can't be @rsed to even take a statement when someone's face is slashed, preferring to wait until they're murdered by a firearm wound to the chest in front of their family on London's streets...
er, I mean
Could still win the Turner Prize though
Oooh a serious sense of humour failure
Actually it's not funny.

Drifting over the speed limit is like drifting a knife into someone
And so the beloved speed camera remains in place to protect and serve the nation's citizens. We all sleep more soundly knowing that a roll of Kodak is out there preventing mayhem. But wait...

Unless a shopkeeper has had £75 or more of goods stolen they can sit on it and spin
OK not quite but the essence is correct - it's the shopkeeper's fault for placing low value but attractive goods withing eyeshot and physical reach of one of society's victims who we must mollycoddle
The Sentencing Advisory Panel giving guidance to The Lord Chief Justice said:
Serial shoplifters should not be jailed even if they are guilty of dozens of crimes
Actually it's not funny.

I would love to have pedmeister's view on this. The Police are run off their feet and too busy to deal with the crimes we complain are not investigated. Yes, they are busy with this sort of thing.
Sure, the footsoldiers are run off their feet, which is even trickier to cope with since at the same time their hands are tied with form filling and their judgement polluted by political correctness.
The current administration, and its lackeys at the top of some key politicised public services, lose the high ground when we see them legislating and prioritising in this way. The legal framework remains but the moral authority is gone.

coming on.
I've sent a note or two here and there, who or what are you interested in?
coming on.Had another illustration of the crazy world of uk injustice this morning. Chatting to a private hire driver (nice Merc) he's in the business of transporting young offenders from e.g. Liverpool to e.g. Bristol. He's on £9-45 an hour and yesterday's run as described from door to door, which is how he's paid, was 16 hours. Wonder how much his boss the contractor gets? Then there were the two adult escorts accompanying this young 'victim of society'
who after the Court appearance was remanded to a secure unit another decent drive away from Bristol, somewhere in Glos. Ker-bloody-ching, cough up taxpayer
If a sweatbox isn't available what's wrong with a ventliated crate and rail freight? No hurry is there.
Across the way in the P&P pub there is a thread running with some archaic laws that are still punishable (or so it says), it'd be interesting if "the law is the law" squad are as angelic as they suggest.

because as we all know, 30mph is perfectly safe and you'll never have an accident. 31 mph however is the route of all evil. It's in Revlations. Well, the governemnt say it is at least

indeedy, I tend to skip the long bow training for a bit of fishing but then again I am a little bit wo, a little bit wheyPractising longbow skills must be on the Home Office's mind, they're about to release some moving targets.
Apparently a circular (25/2006) to be issued on 01 September will 'advise' magistrates not to remand but to use bail and tagging more instead, this in spite of the fact that bailboys such as drug dealer Elliot White use their freedom to murder innocent taxpayers. The problem as we all know is that the government is soft on crime and soft on the causes of crime (but hard on motorists) as a result there isn't enough jail space. Instead of using taxpayers money to build more and keep scum where they can't harm innocent people we get them let out early and - even better ho ho - not put inside at all.
ACPO has given an assurance it will take vigorous action if and when tagging or bail conditions are ignored.
With what resources?
Home Secretary Reid - wasn't he a communist party member? - is looking more like his Home Office minions, unfit for purpose.

But nowhere near as unfit for purpose as the Department for Transport.

Yes, but can you point to any policy, from any government department, that is actually working?
