Lotus driver jailed for "racist revving"

Report yesterday says a Lotus driver was arrested and held in a cell for 2 days after a Muslim couple acccused him of, "revving his car at them in a racist manner"
It seems a passing off-duty cop said the guy was trying to intimidate the couple and reported him to colleagues who arrested him at his home and put him a
in a cell for 48 hours. He was charged with causing the couple distress by acting in a racially aggravated manner.
Lotus man ( a mechanic) said he had trouble with the oil pressure in the car and was revving the engine to see if the oil pressure warning light went out.
The couple said the revving caused them to feel scared embarrassed and degraded.
Cop who reported him, a chief inspector, said he formed the opinion that Lotus man had been deliberately targetting the couple.
