...screams the headlines in London Lite tonight.

I didn't see any blitz. They were still ignoring all road traffic laws as far as I could see, and the plod wandering past (ok C3POs) ignored them as usual. I think it's time they got 3 pts for their driving licences for traffic infringements whilst riding.

Oh a big hello to the Piaggio rider who could barely squeeze through between me and the bus that was trying to crush me, and so resorted to clambering over my rear wing. Surprisingly, yes, I did notice when the whole car shook. Hope you're dead.

Oh I'm sorry, weren't you notified?

Car owners are bad, nasty creatures who wish to kill the planet. Cyclists are wonderful, kind and caring individuals and therefore they have immunity from road traffic laws, to thank them for their environmentally friendly stance.

Ach Liebchen - be careful .. they are ever so "touchy"! Thye will hiss a hex on you when they lurk 'ere! laugh

"World ist against them und everyone hates them".. Aw boo-hoo shame! - because rest of world would like them to read the Highway Code und have proper riding lessons und be responsible .

One notes that some of them on a rather well known forum rant off about drivers und quote the Highway Code as "LAW". When riding to this Code ist put to them .. "ist just a Code with no legal requirement" rolleyes

Funny - but I always thought that the ones with the MUST DO in big red letters were the LAW ones und the should/ ought/ were the common sense suggestions of good acceptabtable, courteous, normal good practice models to strive towards so what I use to get around.

But shhhhh!

the only one I seem to break on odd occasions ist the one to do with the lollies und I have a few issues over outdated stopping distances - but overall - ist common sense for all.

But if rider in traffic ist adopting a primary as opposed to secondary.. ist not being "awkward" - ist for reason if approaching junction...pinch point... right turn.. .danger point ..und they need to be "highly visible" to the larger road users in that kind of situation.

But - then - they should all have taken the BIKEABILITY test und this should be COMPULSORY FOR ALL within reason (including drivers ) these days given the changed world und conditions we travel in.

Wildey - sane and reasonable as ever, and a sensible alternative to the "execute them all" position I was developing last night.

Am I the only one who thinks that riding with hi-viz should be a legal requirement during the hours of darkness?

Riding with a hi-vis should happen all the time.

Myself and my b/f took my two kids and one of their friends out for a cycle ride at weekend, we knew there would be a time when we were on the road, so both he and myself had hi-vis cycling jackets on, I was at the front of the pack and he was at the back... that way we could be seen from both sides and the 3 kids were sandwiched between us. Just sort of seemed like common sense at the time!

No sense of humour - [langweilig" ist right. (Lang=long/Weile=while) so for non German speakers = Long whiley.. = BORING" I teach you how to work out my lingo here )

but Mr Boring - are you spinning in a gym or drifting around here und unable to spot humour
