Well.. we know that they all do it. Everyone speeds, at some point, for some reason - deliberately or accidentally.
Coppers do it, magistrates do it, judges do it. MPs and their drivers do it.

If I were a bored billionaire, one of the things I would do is get a large force of trained staff equipped with laser guns to hang out near MPs / police chiefs / magistrates houses to catch them speeding.

Plus I'd have people patrolling supermarket car parks and clamping those arrogant cnuts that think disabled spaces are there for them to stick their flash cars in when they can't be arsed to drive / walk the extra few yards to a normal space like everyone else does.

Ooh, you've got me started now......

Dianne Ferreira needs to remove the large rod from her arse, and also the rod from the rod's arse.

Honestly what qualifications does she hold to think she's capable of spouting such nonsense? 105mph a killer speed? How many people are killed doing 105mph?

Emotionally biased women Dianne Ferreira said:
"Everybody in these circumstances should of course be banned. There needs to be a severe punishment for driving at killer speeds.

"Driving at over 100mph is clearly too fast.

"All we say about police officers especially is that they should be setting the example.

Speaks for itself really! laugh

Any speed is a potentially killer speed, the fact that this was over 100 is irrelevent and is in no way "clearly too fast" per se.

To flip the coin, perhaps the police officer did set an example?

Having exceeded that speed on many thousands of occasions (mostly legally ), I am still here, and there has been no wake of devastation behind me. Who is this Diane Ferrero Rocher person?

Looks like a pretty standard sentence for such exploits.

His fine was much less (almost half) than mine for 1mph higher than me. Are we surprised at the variation . . . not really.

BRAKE lost the plot a long time ago!! The policies they persue have had the effect of stopping the steady road safety improvements that benefitted this countries drivers for many years. If they had persued the original idea's of improving standards of vehicle maintenence and driver education then we would have an improving record. As such we now have a stalled and degrading record. I'm sure "Wildy" can fill you in on her experience with BRAKE. She was a supporter until they tried to use and accident in which She was critically injured into "Speed Kills" propoganda.

Same court ?
Same bench ?
Same circumstances, after all we only have evidence of the speed here & we all know it's circumstances that matter ?
Same financial circumstances ?

I dont see the point of criticising anyone caught exceeding the speed limits because clearly theyre not crashing while doing it thus proving "brakes" anal emissions to be just that, HOT FECKING AIR!

Yet another case for the irrelevence of the speed limit in force at the time - a member of the police force (again) proves that it's not speed that matters, but the appropriateness of the speed according to the conditions - and so often that speed is higher than the busy-body enforced low limits we have now (that most drivers understandably ignore).

All correct. When I was sentenced I was actually given more points than the Mags guidelines actually allowed.

All part of the course.

The GOOD thing is that at last there is some evidence that with 'the powers that be' is that *the circumstances* which are more important than the speed. If only this was the consideration when choosing whether to prosecute or not as well as when choosing sentence!

I would say she's admirably qualified to spout such nonsense. What she - and the likes of BRAKE - seem incapable of doing is making any constructive contribution to improving our level of road safety.

As for how many people are killed doing 105 mph - probably a great many less than are killed by driving errors made at very much lower speeds.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Is that because of the numbers doing it more than anything though ?
