I found it funny after a recent thread that described people nervous to overtake police cars that, this morning on my 5 mile journey to work, I myself baulked at doing so even though the police car ahead was obviously short on speed and confidence. It was like watching a blue rinser piloting a Micra the way this person was braking excessively for corners.

I sat behind like a good lad.

LOL..

If it is a SC then I don't really blame you, as facing 40 years jail and/or death sentence for having the audicity to

a) overtake
b) overtake a police car
c) kill literally thousands by travelling at 66mph in a 60 limit
d) commit the crime of owning a nice car

would suck.

Plod, assuming it was indeed and active patrol, was probably on the radio or something.

Good not to overtake but simply observe. Much to be learned.

were donuts on view,

I'd have raced past mid-bite to avoid detection

If plod was using his radio whilst driving then he wasn't in control of his Micra and should shop himself. I thought thats why they were in 2's and why there exists handsfree.

A few weeks ago I would have said go for it, there's no reason not too. Having been done for overtaking at an alleged 60mph in a 50mph (which I wasn't but that's another story) I would now be very careful about doing it again.

I had the sheer cheek to pass a Plod Galaxy today, whilst they were wating in the inside lane approaching a roundabout. I calmly pootled up t'other lane and across the roundabout.

Imagine my complete lack of surprise when they totally ignored me and went and did something more important

Good for you. I often sit at 55 in a 70 on the inside lane just to get a laugh at all the daft sods who will sit behind me terrified to overtake. It's a bit of an early morning pass time when we are bored. You see them crawling up nervously daring not too look at us. Half the time its probably because something good is on the normal radio or the local radio show has a good quiz in the morning and we are trying to get all the answers. So if you soo a plod mobile travelling on the motorway check out the radio station. If there is a quiz on shout the answers over to me 'cause I've never got them all correct yet.

Hmmmm.....great idea Bentley. So you acknowledge all the daft sods who won't go past you, but that naturally won't be thinking about lane discipline and pulling over behind you thereby buggering up all the traffic behind...and you do this for amusement?? Dear oh dear.

Thats it. Hillarious. Best of all is that if something does happen........I'm driving away from it.....Ha ha ha ha ha.............. Oh by the way get a sense of humour and dry your eyes. Its a bit of fun thats all. I don't actually do it. Humour was the name of the game but you are obviously too uptight to grasp that concept.

I await your sarcastic reply...............

Overtook a Derbyshire Scam Van on the M1 the other week, he was doing about 50 (!) forcing trucks to overtake and increasing congestion. What a Pillock!

The police car was a Focus, but he drove like your typical Micra pilot.

GB - I will try to help with your quiz if I pass you - what station is it? hehe

I'd be careful of Derbyshire Scameravans. I had one get in the wrong lane of the roundabout i was on and proceed to cut me to pieces.

I don't have a problem overtaking plod in marked cars, its omega/volvos with big blokes in white shirts that make me twitchy.
