Does anyone conclusively know the score with the cameras in the Limehouse Link tunnel , London?

Are they digital and therefore guaranteed to send out a NIP if I was flashed in the small hours of Sunday morning?

Thanks...

Cant find anything definitive, but given how high they are mounted, I'd put money on them being digital. Cross fingers, eh?

Well I use the tunnel every weekday evening and I wouldn't want to trigger any of them as they're redspeed/monotron digital cameras.
This topic has been discussed a number of times here on PH, some ppl claiming that they have been flashed and got away with it. I'm not sure I remember if anyone on here has actually received a NIP etc.

Personally I won't take the p*ss at all with any of these types of cameras.

Looks like they're digital. B@stards.
I'd swear I was doing no more than about 34 mph on the speedo (so proboably a 32-33 real speed).
14 days...

But I've heard people have been flashed and not fined - is this possible with digiscams?

You need to read:
www.redspeed-int.com/en/products_redspeed.htm

and esp this www.redspeed-int.com/en/news_press_releases_continue_support.htm
search for limehouse link on this page!

Edited to add case study article on the system installed in the tunnel

I've been flashed twice and haven't received NIPs - both times I wasn't concentrating and i usually try to stay at 30mph. Such a shame as they're lovely echo-y tunnels....

Heartening news... fingers crossed

Do you thing the operator/arsehole who check the pictures might ever be biased by the car in the photo?

i.e. because I drive a fancy sports car, might they be able to send me a NIP if I'm doing a speed that is only very marginally excessive, where a Megane Scenic might get away with it?

Pal at work was flashed and didn't hear anything else, you'll just have to wait and see I'm afraid.

I often use cruise control in that kind of situation if traffic permits, allows you to keep your eyes where they should be, rather than on your speedo!

A great idea, but not really an option in the go kart!

Been flashed once or twice there in the past with no NIP consequences.

Also, between the cameras is fine

Also been flashed with no NIP. More importantly the cameras face downwards getting what I can only assume is a pretty pic of the roof of your car, can anybody expalin this?

There are 2 cameras per point I believe - one above your car (presumably to measure distance travelled over the lines) and one behind which snaps your rear plate.

Doesn't that count as criminal damage? - Streaky

Well Jay, as i was cruising comfortably behind you (in a PC non-threatening/sexual manner ), i suspect they might get one of us. But i still maintain we were well within the limit (almost!)

I've already typed my, "request for proof" letter . Here's hoping I don't have to send it

I can well do without more points at the moment

How irritating that of the four of us cruising in convoy at a perfectly reasonable and safe speed, one in the middle of the group should be flashed and punished like a criminal. What a petty thing.
