Some Government twit said:
Dr Ladyman said Safe Speed only highlighted the figures for the number of times breaking the speed limit’ was recorded, and not other options including inappropriate speed and misjudgement of speed.
“These other factors, which also involve breaking the speed limit, are responsible for 800 crashes a year,”
he said.

he said.
Is it me, or does that not actually make any sense? The first paragraph implies that "inappropriate speed" and "misjudgement of speed" do not come under the category of "breaking the speed limit". And then paragraph 2 says that they do. And if they don't, then why the bl**dy hell do we rely on the speed limit as a "preventative" measure?
Ah, I think I've got it - he thinks that you can't misjudge speed under the speed limit, and that any speed under the limit must be appropriate. I think I'm going to go and cry...
Oh, and 800 crashes a year? Out of how many? As a percentage, please, Dr. Ladyman.

I've read the article and the thread on your website - Ladyman has left himself open to complete ridicule, but how will you slit his jugular?
Note to Mary - I'm not condoning kill the right honourable MP - it's a figure of speech, you silly cow
Agreed, although his statement is so silly even the non-enthusiast who has half a brain can see it for what it is...
Statement to the press asking for his resignation on the grounds that his main campaign on road safety is based on a concept he does not even understand himself!

I'm on my way to London. Interviews lined up. And let's see if we managed to hit tomorrow's newspapers. Fingers crossed. Could be a very interesting week.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

It's going to take a media-frenzy to shift anyone on this Labour team unfortunately
