Swansea Schoolkids Parking Protest
Discussion
Hope that road was closed when they did that - you can't park there but there's nothing stopping you driving over the little sods. And who is it that's parking on the lines and putting these kids at risk??? - that's right, the bloody parents...and why, because little Johnny and Jennifer are too bleedin'lazy to walk around the corner, get the bus, or God forbid walk home!

How about, have an unmarked police car or speed camera outside the school. A few points and tax donations may help them remember to " pllleeeeasseee think of the children".
I wish I could stop thinking about some of them! (truth be told, the majority are fine, but the bad ones, don't get me started........)

I'm not sure a speed camera would help with a parking issue,
It would. You see, the parents who have dropped off their brats are, IME, the ones who then steam out of the area past all other children and parents at 40-60mph, and usually in their 4*4s, and often on the mobiles too.. I used to live at the end of a road which had a school on it, and the driving of the parents has to be seen to be believed. So, in just one week, they will not only drive slowly enough to not run over any kid stupid enough to run into the road, but may also pay enough attention to the fact they will get nicked (as they will have 9 points by Thursday) and so park a bit further away (from the scamera) and let their brats walk that little bit further......
On a more serious note, school areas are one place where I am in favour of 20mph speed limits, and parking restrictions. The village that I used to live in is accessed via a lane which goes from 30 to NSL just past the school access. This gets horribly parked up with parents, WHO ALL LIVE IN THE VILLAGE, right near to the limit change. The road is narrow, and not exactly straight either. Something needs to be done.
