War criminals -vs- White collar crime
Discussion
A tried and convicted (in absentia) Croatian war criminal, for whom an international arrest warrant was in effect at the time, was granted asylum asylum in the UK. If the warrant is now executed, it will undoubtedly take years of legally-aided court time and masses of evidence to determine whether he should be deported back to Croatia for sentencing. Of course if he were a British citizen accused of a financial crime in the USA he would be speedily extradited without any evidence being presented to a British court.
