Morning ladies and gents,

- Travelling on a 30mph road with 100m to go untill it then changes to a National limit, was running a little late to work so I began to speed-up seeing the national sign ahead. I was travelling aprox 40/45.

- Two Officers with a tripod standing on the 30MPH side of the National limit sign.

I am pretty sure that I must have been clocked, I am in no deinal that i was travelling in excess of the 30mph limit and accept that this is wrong etc...

What can I hope to expect through if i was indeed clocked?

Thankyou.

Hope for an FPN.

But, IIRC there were some guidelines issued which suggested people would not get nicked within x distance of an NSL change sign to allow for such things.

Apologies for bombarding with questions...

Can anyone also advise on how long I should expect to wait for the notice to come through the post?

Thanks for the comments chaps.

Have been worried that this may result in a court appearance... have been looking else where on the net and heard alot about NIP's

Is this what is likley to appear through my letterbox?

If it were to come through and take the 3pts and fine will this be the end of the matter?

Miserable gits, they go places they know people speed, but NOT where they know there is accidents. Bloody tossers and everybody knows it.
I live on a road that is about 1.5 miles long, and wide and complete straight, but it does have hills/inclines in it. Anyway it was a 40mph limit because it was so safe and massive. No accidents ever happened except morons pulling out of junctions into each other....but that can happen anywhere.
Anyway they decide to change it to 30mph for no reason whatsoever. They take down the 40mph signs. The DO NOT replace them with 30mph signs.
Then they set up speed traps on the blind side of these hills so people dont see the 'pigs' 'till it's too late. No one is aware the limit has changed until they get pulled over, and of course everyone says "its a 40mph isnt it?" only to be told that its now a 30mph and they should know this because there isnt any signs but there is street lamps, so by default its a 30mph.

It has been a 40mph since ive lived there, more than 12 years. They knew they would catch people out and that can be the only reason for suddenly changing the limit and speed checking straight after.
Scum.

If you accept the charge then 3 points and a fine will be it .... unless you are nearing the 12 points total which might mean a ban yikes The points only last 3 years before they drop off by the way.

By the way I was travelling up the A435 towards J3 M42 on Monday doing around 70 in a 60 and spotted a chap in a yellow jacket (not police)stood on the side of the road pointing what looked like a speed gun at me and then lowered it after I went passed him.

Question - don't they have to put a temporary speed camera warning sign up first as a warning and also doesn't it have to be a uniformed officer that uses these cameras - not plain clothed yellow jackets?

From what described I would have thought that had they wanted to prosecute for speeding then there would have been either a direction to stop or a stopping officer a bit further down the road, or

it may have been a speed survey in connection with the change to NSL - may want to extend?

Either way if nothing in the post to the Reg keeper of the vehicle being used, sweat over.

would have been a shame had you braked and locked up the front wheels causing plod to run for it before you skidded through tripod etc

hehe

"sorry plod I got such a shock when I suddenly saw you that I braked thinking you wanted me to stop etc etc"

If you do get NIP just think you are helping McBrown to stop himself bankrupting the country
