Overtook one of these little cars on the way to work, he was driving behind a bus which was doing 35mph, as usual, so I overtook him on a clear section of road (nsl), no junctions, didn't even need to "speed" etc and plenty of space to pull in but the batsarad flashed me with his headlights and gave me a certain hand gesture . . . rolleyes Overtook the bus 20 seconds later and he didn't follow.

Why do they try to piss people off like this ? Is it the little Hitler problem or is there a new law that says we're not allowed to overtake them if they are "community" plod ? furious Doing themselves no favours.

Damn right report him. Clearly driving aggressively (flashing of lights) and undue care and attention (coffee beans).

He sounds like the typical sort of arse who would volunteer for that sort of job. Does anyone remember the comedy series "Dad's Army"? The ARP warden springs to mind.

I think so, the thread title says "community officer" so I guess so. Sad really, half baked schemes to get half a**d mini hitlers into "policing" to feck it all up for the real police.. You must p**s yourself when you see them strutting around...

Saw one in Liverpool St a while back, standing around, arms folded, next to the two firearms officers.. You'd think he was in charge of the whole London police...

These must be the Plastic Police, then?

Look-alikes, with almost no powers.

Ask a scrote. They'll give you the real deal.

That's definitely one for a quite word in the Inspector's ear so that he can have a rather louder one in the driver's.

Ah, well, you see, THAT depends on HOW DANGEROUS the area is. You see, near us, there is a quiet, leafy village, with pretty much no crime. And no footpath either. So, our interprid hero to be is sadly unable to leave her car and walk the streets, for "health and safety" reasons, i.e. no footpath. The fact that everyone in said leafy village walks along day in and day out with no footpath is not a concern.

(a) uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or

thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress.

Quite true,

But you have to prove the person sufferred distress. So, OP should have reported his anguish straightaway or seen the doc I'd have gone to casualty, lol or had a word with the tit!

Sorry to be dim but whats a 'Community Police Car'?

I have seen the quasi-coppers (green uniforms + orange jackets) wandering around the centre of Leeds but didn't realise they had cars too?

Do they look like regular police cars?

Also if the guy behaved like that in uniform in a marked car then he really is a disgrace to the service and to the other decent officers.
