Allied to my other "106mph" thread. I have 3 points shown on my licence from February 03. Am I right in thinking these will not count in my totting up, shoud I be prosecuted for the pending incident?

Points are valid for 3 years for totting up, and remain on your record (or at least, the paper portion of your licence) for a further year.

Therefore I *think* the 3 points you currently have won't get you banned if you were handed 9 points for "106mph" but the fact you've been nabbed previously will be eminently clear to the beak in the cloak.

3 years - don't count for totting up
4 years - don't have to be shown on your licence
5 years - don't have to tell insurance companies anymore

July '07 I'll be getting rid of some points for ever...
