I have spent the last few weeks (on the sick) doing some serious house tidying, I found lots of old stuff and amondst it all I found this, a 34 years old ticket.

I was 17 on 31/12/1971, passed my test 59 days later on 28/02/1972 then got my first pull on 4/5/1972, 65 days later.

Not bad eh.

Serves you right, I used to live round the corner from Chorley old road, you could have killed me with your speeding.
My dad got nicked in the same road in the early sixties in my uncle's XK150

If you look closer you will see that I got nicked near Lytham St Annes, I was travelling south going past Pontins, nice and wide there but at the time it was 30mph.
My cousin had a XK150S in red, we went up Chorley old rd in 1970, we did 75 past Ivy road and 80 past whitcroft road school.

172 Chorley old road was at the end of Marsh fold lane.

Aha, so you were constantly speeding round there then. I lived at 389 Church road opposite the cricket club and went to school in Moorland grove.
BTW, From your profile I see you have changed your name since then.

Sorry about that I must get round to changing it, the other name is the wifes maiden name, Chris as in Christine.

I would have challenged that, anybody describing driving a Hillman Minx as "pleasure" is obviously not paing attention

Heh, I've got my first, and so far, only speeding ticket scanned into the PC. 80mph on a 70mph road. Some people commute faster than that

I've never had one in my 4 years of driving (At this moment in time I am manically bashing my desk shouting "TOUCH WOOD!!!!"...shouting and bashing makes it work better of course, right? )

But when the inevitable happens, I'll frame it for all to see...I'm guessing I should be proud of it?
