pulled by plod who tried to blag a test drive !
Discussion
the mrs was pulled by a bib and asked to open passenger door so he could have a look inside and asked where she lived as he fancied getting one of these (monaro vxr) and he thought he might be able to pop round and have a test drive in it ! she hadn't done anything wrong and declined any info and as a company car it's not registered at home address .what a cheek .
i followed a police car one night. Got pulled as i was allegedly going 50mph in a 30mph zone. Told the policeman my speedo was broken and I was matching his speed as i thought he was doing 30. To check i was'nt talking BS, the policeman got in my seven kit car and dissapeared for five minutes. According to an MOT inspector i knew, the policeman had no right to 'test' my car.
I got stopped by a really nice TC for having no front plate on my RX7 (I did have one but it was rubber banded to the passenger sunvisor (possibly not quite in accordance with con & use
), I actually offered him a test drive as he was really enthusiastic about them and let me off with a VDRS 14 day jobbie.

unfortunately she was so surprised she didn't get his collar number or a quick call to a friend who happens to be an inspector may have been in order. without his number it is all a bit vague .

You can't tell the difference between 30 and nearly twice the speed!!
You should have made him passenger and scared the crap out of him!
Driving into North London in fairly heavy, but moving, traffic about 10 years ago, got pulled by a Panda. WPC gets out and says "Don't worry sir, you've not done anything wrong. I've been asked to stop you by my colleague here (pointing at another Panda just pulling up behind), he's a car nut and just wanted a closer look but couldn't get near enough in the traffic"
I was followed by the bib for about 3 miles on an old Matchless single with an open exhaust once (1952 motorcycle with a top speed of 60mph). When I stopped to see what it was all about at the next junction the guy said he was enjoying the noise! (no test drive requested or offered though).
Got pulled about 5 years ago comming out of Winchester on a country road. I was in the TVR, and when I saw the traffpol sitting in the layby, I dropped down a gear and blasted past at the speed limit.
The time it took for him to catch up obviously indicated I wasnt speeding, but he asked me if he could have a sit in the car.. I replied sure ... If I can sit in yours (then Volvo 850). He proceeded to enjoy sitting in the Wedge whilst I sat in his car. He did tell me I could push any of the buttons except for the siren
So I sat there pushing buttons whilst his colleague and him had a good browse around the Wedge. Both he and his colleague thanked me and then let me on my way. I did comment that Mine WAS faster than his, but he didnt take the bait, just told me to go careful
