Am I right in thinking normal GATSOs (not Truvelos) can't be used forward-facing?

There's a road in Dudley I travelled down tonight, that has a GATSO on the opposite side of the road, around 100yds before a change from 30mph to NSL. I sped up a bit too quickly, and passed the camera at around 55mph. Just before I was level with the camera, I got a double (white - not magenta) flash.
It all happened very fast, but I'm not even sure it would have caught my car in its field of vision. Will they just throw this out?

Thanks for any advice

GATSOs are not type-approved for frontal photographs. Don't worry - Streaky

I've had this happen to me before (I was even at legal speeds) with no other cars were around. The only thing I can imagine is that as it was damp, the spray being thrown out by the tyres set it off.

Alternatively it could be that cameras don't work properly.
