A mate of mine and I have been working on a 1980 Series III Land Rover. Its an ex army 109' FFR jobby with a full folding canvas roof.
We bought it last year as a project so we can go out in it and half a bit of a laugh.

Anyway, does anybody know if we can carry people in the back and whats the law say about this, especially as it only has front seatbelts and the rear seats are only benches?

It has two regular front seats, and in the back it has two benches either side that go lengthways.

If it's 1980 you're allowed as many passangers as you have seatbelts upto the passenger capacity on your V5.

Its a long wheel base Landy, but it doesn't have a second row of forward facing seats. The two benches in the back are along the sides.

This is where I am a bit stuck. You can get six in the back, but there are no belts. Is it legal to carry people in the back?

How small is "half a bit of a laugh"? Is it less than a chuckle? Maybe even less than simply a grin? - Streaky
