So blasts a Manchester MP per tonight's "MEN"

I am not BiB bashing but merely reporting headline of a regional paper. It seems two CID officers from the Macclesfield base were accused of stealing the proceeds they confiscated from the criminals they caught.

Cheshire Police tell MP that they were "bound by the law" after Nicholas Winterton blasted them about a three year inquiry und a £1m cost to taxpayers. The force does not even have to name the officers.

The inquiry was launched in 2003 following complaints from the criminals

CPS received the evidence in November 2003 but decided no criminal charges could be brought.

Internal disciplinary ensued.. und at the hearing the officers admitted some of the charges und of the 39 charges.. 13 were proven

Officer with 8 years' service was sacked for misconduct und failing to act with honesty und integrity - as was one with 18 years of services - who was found guilty of stealing "seized money".

We are talking of hundreds und not thousands per the article.. by the way und I am sure ist in evidence on manchesteronline anyway.

A sergeant of 20 years was demoted to constable as result of all this - because

Manchester press said:

he was proven to know a crime had been committed by someone he knew could not have done it to improve his deparment's detection rate

Ist not me bashing..I am typing what I read .. und ist how Joe Public out there will read .. und be harshest critics as we all fund ...

The police say the volume of evidence und thorough approach warranted the length of the investigation. CPS ay the officers undermined the integrity und good work of all their colleagues. P

Police authority are reported in absolute fairness intended as expressing dissatisfactions und have lobbied the government to bring changes to make the investigation of such awful matters more efficient und stress that this ist very important that the behaviour of these offices does not reflect the integrity und professionalism of police officers und staff who serve with honour, honesty, integrity und good faith.

I do so agree.. und I would not want BiB on this forum to think I am bashing BiB.

I post to point out these officers do not help heal any rifts.. that their "nonny"\disgrace ist in public interest given that I, Mad Doc, und most of team Swiss medics, dentists und legal beagles would be named und shamed - und a lot of public cash has been wasted as result of all this.

Not to mention the harm this type do to the most honest who feel every slight these cause as "personal" und I would say to them that they need not apologise for "low life zeros" any more than enthusiastic drivers need apologise for numpties or skilled cyclists need aplogise for the rabid "spindrifts" of the world
