Revoked Parking Ticket

A while back I posted on a thread that I was currently in the process have appealing against my penalty charge notice and promised to post the outcome, but unfortunately I cannot for the life of me find the thread.
This is one of the few times I will admit to being completely in the wrong. It was roughly 8pm and I was trying to park in richmond, luckily (or not) I managed to park by the green which is not very well lit. The stretch I parked on was absolutely full and only had one parking space left so I zipped in, got out and checked the sign out to see it was a pay and display that finished just when I arrived.
I popped off to the pub to meet a friend and came back about an hour or so later to find that I had a PCN. I couldnt understand why until I read that I was parked in a permit holders bay without displaying a valid permit. I couldnt understand this until I saw the very faint road markings on the road, then it dawned it me that I had parked 1/3 of my car in a permit holders bay and 2/3 in the Pay and Display bay (yes there was no gap, just a solid white line to help distinguish between them).
I figured that it was my own fault for parking in a tight space, not seeing the whiteline and not looking out for another sign which may suggest I was parked illegally.
When I got home and had a good read of the PCN, I noticed that they had mispelled my Registration. I then phoned up Richmond council and spoke to one of the kindest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to who basically told me that they had screwed up and she is 99% it would be revoked, especially as she has flagged my file to say I was more than ready to pay the fine, I accepted responsibility for parking illegally and more to the point, I was very polite. I didnt realise they flag these, but I am glad they do!
So yesterday I got home from work to find a letter from Richmond council informing me that the PCN had been revoked.
Result!
Now, just don't ask me about getting 3 tickets outside my own house even with a correctly displayed permit and being legally parked in a bay. They have revoked one, I have had to pay one, and the last one happened about 4 months ago and I have heard nothing!
Basically I received a ticket, a policeman saw me come out of my house to find the ticket on my car BUT did not see the ticket issued therefore he cannot report that I didnt tamper with the car to make it appear like it was unfairly served (although it said 'Did not have a valid permit in a permit holders bay' even though it did!). He did however give me his police number and told me to take lots of photos and send them to the council.
I appealed against the ticket, told them that there is no point in taking my permit out of the car and sticking it back in for fun after receiving a ticket and about 12 photos of the car from all angles.
I have heard absolutely nothing from Hounslow council and I am not impressed!
