A good haul for the scamerati this morning in Exeter
Discussion
I think I got done this morning 50 in a 40 by the Devon and Cornwall Safety Pratnership.
Arrived at work thoroughly pissed off that I'd been stupid enough to get caught on a piece of road I know full well often has them on, to be met by 3 other colleagues who had also been done including one very white looking guy who reckons he was doing double the limit..idiot.
I assume I'm looking at 3 bonus points and a fee of £60 for the priviledge
What is my colleague looking at for double the limit? Thinks he was doing about 80 before he realised and hit the anchors, he's got a clean licence for 4 years.
Thanks

Where was the van?
I often see them driving towards Crediton on the A377 at 8.45am. They don't set up before 9am as there is too much commuter traffic for anyone to break the limit.
probably right about yours. If he was going that fast (40 over limit?) he might get a court summons with option to plead guilty by post and then 6pts (max they can award on a sp30 i think), fine and a ban at the discretion of the magistrates (they will grumble for a bit about it but should be fine with a clean license). Oh and the whole thing can easily take 6mths to resolve....

Of course were your colleague to ignore all correspondence from the scammers and risk a s.172 prosecution then he'd escape a possible ban (s.172 prosecutions typically carry a higher fine, but 3-points).
Like other offences an offence under Sec 172 now has a discretionary disqualification as one of the possible penalties.

Thanks guys as suspected.
Paul the van was on the bridge between Pynes Hill and countess wear roundabout facing down the hill, ie getting people coming up it.
I was absolutely livid at not seeing him there.

I'm sickened for you!
But were any of you about to have a collision, because this is preventative enforcement you know
. Funny that, given that a reported 95% of collisions happen under the limit. May be you'll slow down next time along that stretch....
and crash!!
