*if* they are registered to vote 192.com is your friend. You do have to pay but its not too much..and it will tell you name, address, phone number, who else lives at the address, and all the same for their neighbours :-)

Local Authority will have an Electorol Roll, yearly updated, naming all adults living within their domain which can be examined free............Maybe a copy in local Reference Library.

Or you could just go to the police, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to follow up on the case for you.

ooooh what a novel idea, ask the police, they are as usefull as a chocolate teapot,i found out their names with about 10 mins of my time and 1 phone call.
they are of the chav/pikey flavor so finding an addy may be difficult and the vehicle they use prob isn't registered anywhere.
where,s the A team when you need them?

Have you tried the Police ?
When you say you know who did it, is that under your own rules of evidence or those that would satisfy a court ?

all the "evidence" i have is the time the theft occurred a neighbor heard a lot of noise from near my garden, the same time as said scrotes family were moving out.
one of scrotes is into scrap metal.
2+2 =4 in my book but would plod bother on that evidence?

Without an admission from them, that is insufficient evidence.

The law that protects you by requiring any allegation made against you be proveable beyond all reasonable doubt, protects them.

But what do you suggest then ?
That it's OK for you to set up your own kangaroo court, that it require a much lower burden of proof & that you should be free to apply it to those who you feel may have personally wronged you ?

The burden of proof for speeding offences is beyond all reasonable doubt.

I suggest that you think about carefully before accusing people when you have no evidence & carrying out your own summary justice, lest the same happen to you one day.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

And there I was thinking you were entirely devoid of humour.

(I do agree that the proof against the people in question sounds somewhat less than compelling, though. However, since I don't know ALL the circumstances, I will leave it there. )

Actually in Von's defense - he is correct.
The problem is that the evidence the CPS use to prove the "beyond all reasonable doubt" is illegal (in my opinion). If the courts allow the evidence then the case is prooved...

OK - I am ignoring the dodgyscope issues here

Those are all the sort of issues I had in mind.
