Done.

Should I expect to be harassed to the ends of the earth as a child-killer in waiting, now?

Let's make this petition as popular as the Scrap Road Pricing and Vehicle Tracking.

The next two most voted for topics are to Scrap Inheritance Tax and Scrap The Hunting Act 2004. Personally I can't see HMG scrapping any of these, let alone Paul's new speed scamera. But at least it lets Blair know that there are folk out there prepared to fight for what they believe in rather than the nation of dogsbodies he would like us to be.

Just tried to sign up but it won't let me as 'the site is extremely busy at this time'.

Kind of tells you something about the volume of disagreement with this Government.

Took a long time for my email to come through. My personal information must be making its way into several databases so they can nanny me into thinking tax cameras are gooooood

Hear, hear re making this one as popular as the road charging one. If every motorist who's been nabbed for a minor infringement in a perfectly safe situation signs this, surely it must end up better supported.

I'm trying to sign this and the road pricing one. All I'm getting is a message saying the servers are too busy to handle it

Eleven signatures and it's collapsed, eh? Convenient, I'd call that...

Signed up, i wonder if it will help the cause. But lets not forget there were di*kheads before scamera, di*kheads during the scameras and no doubt will be di*kheads after- i agree with safespeed- we need to change ATTITUDES & COMPETANCE- scameras don't do this.

Signed - site seems to be working ok now.

I have also posted about it on another car mailing list.

If we all spread the word it can only help.

It has grown massively in the last few days.
re the safespeed petition, please folks get this to as many people as you can, there can be an uncertainty about appearing to push your views on other people, but just think how many people out there have been caught be these things and are certain they were driving safely at the time, I'm sure it will be welcomed by many people.

I would never have considered approaching my FiL about on on-line petition in the past, I know I can now because he was “had” not long ago in a newly reduced limit by a new scam, despite driving perfectly safely at a speed that 2 weeks previously would have been considered slow. How many people like this do you know?

I spent some time marshalling at the m4 protest and I could not believe the number of people who did not know the protest was going on but came up and asked and then explained how they emphatically supported us, some even joined in even though they had other things to do, I'm sure the reaction to this will be the same.

If we can get the petition to the size of the road pricing one then this government, despite what TB says, really does have to listen, we have whinged enough about the situation, now you can do something individually very small but collectively potentially massive.
