At the junction of A404 and M40 (junction 4), I was in lane 2 of 4, which is correct for A4010, person on RHS of me ( lane 3 )decided they want to take the M40 (oxford exit) so they were 2 lanes out of place and decided to drive into me, only a crease to the back door. I carried on off the roundabout and stopped ( he was behind me ), he did not take my exit and continued round the roundabout and took the M40 exit he wanted and drove off, I chased after him and after much flashing he pulled over.
He is now claiming I hit him, I have left a call for him to discuss, can I report him for driving off ?
Any ideas of lightly outcome ?

I would report a hit and run and failing to report an accident.

Your word against his, but if you allegedly hit him, why wouldn't have stopped????

G

PS He might not have insurance, tax etc. so report it.

Not sure who to report him too, or if the fact I caught up with him covers it, I checked with the insucance compnay and he has insurance.

I'd expect that since the crease is in your back door you have a good chance of beating a 50:50 claim. Assume you have reported it to Bibs.

Also check if his insurance started before or after time of accident, takes a couple of minutes on a mobile to arrange insurance these days.

If all the parties involved in an RTA are insured with the same company would said company be more likely to do a 50:50?

Now this is where certain older British Colonies have taken UK law and made it better --get hit in some African ex UK colonies --report it to police ,get no joy and police investigate ,and sometimes prosecute- all they need is reg no.
