I can not beleive this!

the cat gets squished in the middle of the night so the owners campaign for and get a reduction of the speed limit.

Why was the cat playing in the traffic.
As the demise of tiddles was not witnessed by anyone why has everyone assumed that the car was speeding or that speed was a factor?

Did the car use the highway code?
Did he have lights on?

What complete crap!

Ms Singleton said: "The road had a 60mph limit, so we decided to lobby for a reduced limit, in memory of Satin and for the sake of the many rabbits and hedgehogs getting squished on our road - not to mention our own safety.

"We wrote to our local councillor and requested the change and the sign and several others were put up three years later.

One wonders if future KSI statistics will include four-legged animals.
If only they had taught Satin the Green Cross Code.

Remember, kids: your car is a lot louder at 40MPH in 1st gear than it is at 60MPH in 5th.

Not that I'd condone such reprehensibly antisocial behaviour.

newspaper thingy said:
the first the family knew about it was when a neighbour brought their dead pet to the door the following morning.

By hand, in a bucket or on a shovel?

I love cats, but....that's what it bleeding was. They do tend to have a total disrespect for traffic.

And they still make a mess of your car if you hit them at 60 or 40....

Sounds like the culprit was a local farmer. The article clearly states "the cat was mown down". On the other hand I think it could have been suicide.

Unless I am mistaken this road was the main A350 leading to the M4 it has a 60 for decades.

Now theree is a new bypass and poor old satin is an Ex-cat, has ceased to be....
there is an excuse for a 40 limit.

How long to we give it before the scamera van is there regularly.
All because the cat ran out in front of a car.

Surely the driver should be sueing for the Post Trauma Stress of seeing Sating commit Hari-Kari never mind damage to the car.

May be the cat was depressed?

All the other cats took the P155 out of him for living with girls named Poppy and Fuchsia

Cats can be so crule!!

Noticed that the mothe of Fuchsia and Poopy was a former Gazette reporter. Don't forget to leave a suitable fitting comment.

Interesting point!

Their house is only 100yrds or so from the railway line.
The main Paddington to Penzance ( or South Wales) I beleive.

Are the trains being made to slow down as they pass Patterdown in case some of Satins mates become MFI cats? ( Flat Packed)

How about everyone emails Wilts County Council to petition that all cats be kept away from main roads?

i am sure that would work rolleyes
