Just integrate it into your dashboard. Who's going to see it?

I never saw anything to announce the fact that they had become illegal!

Anyone seen an article?

All the websites are still selling them. TG magazine says some manufacturers are buying them back?? odd!!

Not really buying them back but when you trade them in you get a discount of a choice of GPS based products.
Dont buy a jammer they are banned aswell.
What is it you are looking to buy anyway, if i were you i would get a road angel 2.
Ive got one, would swear by it!

This bill definately been passed? I know it was going through but could have taken months to actually become law.

So...anyone know where its writen that this has become 'law' instead of 'still going through'?

So where is the compensation???

When handguns were made illegal did'nt the owners get compensation when they handed them in. If so I want compensating for my radar detector

they're not illegal yet !

Anyway -radar detectors are fairly redundant these days - I've not bothered fitting radar detectors in my newest cars - just laser jammers

I have a Bel laser/radar detector which has more than paid for itself.
I also have a GPS based system as part of a Sat Nav.

I would hate to loose the detector though!

This just underline the fact that this is nothing to do with road safety.
Its all about £££££. They have effectively given themselves an advantage by removing our defences.

The next law will be to allow then to place cameras, vans anywhere they like without notice so that your GPS system is useless.

OH Wait! they just did that last week didn't they!

Underhanded 2 faced scumbags!!

What jammers have people got fitted? How are they performing and any problems with the BiB?

Or do, as they apparently work very well against the hand-helds.

not that any of you honest law abiding decent fellow would fit a jammer but does any of you have a "mate" who has a jammer?

What sorts, makes are alleged to work the best?

A mate has an SLD920X & thats saved him at least 4 times in the year hes had it... 3 points per go (plus fine of course) so should now be banned.

I believe the newer ones turn on for 5s or so and then turn off to cool down, allowing the BiB to get a reading.

The logic being that if you haven't slowed down with 5 seconds of the device beeping and flashing at you then you probably deserve a pull. They're a good idea, although I've never been tempted myself.

the best jammers are the blinders Mx20 - they don't auto switch off - but the jamming error is a "normal" error - rather than a "jam" error - can't remember the exact codes
