Yes indeed, the Surrey Advertiser had a whole page on it at the weekend. I've only just scan-read it so far, as I wanted to have a relaxing weekend and not put my urine kettle on!

One camera will be located at the bottom of the A31, because a couple of years ago a toddler ran out into the road and was killed by a car. It was confirmed that the driver was within the speed limit. rolleyes

This might just be the first time I write to my local paper!

Hmmm Byfleet Road in New Haw... so a road with an old railway bridge with traffic lights and aload of those concrete cicane things now needs a speed camera... sure whatever

I have a feeling some of the width restrictions on this road have been reprofiled recently, allowing higher potential speeds. Hmm... scratchchin ... I didn't think they'd do it out of the kindness of their hearts and a desire for smooth traffic flow.

A few of those are only Talivan locations if the ever-helpful Addlestone & Byfleet review is to be believed; the New Haw Road one IIRC. That's going to be rich pickings, even the hat wearers get to 40+ down there.
