I was wondering, say if you travelled along a motorway at 80mph past 2 Gatsos a mile apart, you would be done twice for speeding I presume?

If you were followed by Trafpol I assume you would be done once by VASCAR.

In SPECs zones, are you charged once per set of cameras or for the whole distance?

If you travelled at 80, slowed to 70 then sped up to 80, you would commit 2 acts of speeding, whereas cruising at 80 would just be one?

Is there a definition, or is it down to common sense by the courts/police/civilian scamerati?

Common sense.

It has happened before, adn has been argued in similar circumstances you have explained that the Gatsos are not capturing two offences but two separate pieces of evidence proving the same offence.

It just comes down to the exact cicumstances.

If you are caught twice you can write to the CC to ask that both catches are considered as a single offence. Of course, this does rather make it look to magistrates like it wasn't just a momentary blip of concentration but a sustained and deliberate ongoing breach...

Does a sustained breach make a difference? If I get caught for 36 in a 30 does it matter that I only did it for 400 yds, or that I have spent the last 30 minutes with cruise control set at 36?

Is this an urban myth or was 'top comic' Jim Davidson the first to get this mutliple prosecution thrown out when he was done by four sets of gatsos on the M25?

Knowing his rep they probably only needed the 3 points to relieve him of his paperwork.

If you were caught robbing a bank by 4 CCVT cameras you would not be convicted of robbing 4 banks or the same bank 4 times!

There should be no question this is one offence with duplicated or additional evidence.

You want to watch that advocaat - it stains if you spill it.

The principle concern for magistrates is the speed over the limit, but other mitigating and aggravating factors should be taken into consideration when sentencing. In particular traffic levels, weather, poor road surface and sustained nature of the offence can all contribute to higher sentencing.

The sustained breach does rather scupper the argument that it was just a momentary lapse, that the passion of the music got the better of me, and I really shouldn't be banned, please please please please please, your worshipfulness.
