Avg spd. cameras M6 Southbound jct 4-2?

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone here had noticed the same thing. Was travelling home from Liverpool to London today. Doing a pretty steady 70(+not much)on the M6 one or two junctions before joining the M1.

Out of the blue I came across a small 50 sign and one of those average speed cameras (yellow on gantry). Not having seen a sign that this was a 50 zone before (and no roadworks, lane narrowing, cones) I slow down quickly and pass the cameras at 50 and carry on at this speed, then the lanes narrow briefly, but afterwards I see no more cameras and can only assume that these things come in pairs and I have missed one previously (in the process travelling and being caught travelling at over the speed limit). Narks me off that I saw no warning of this 50 zone at its start.

Is this location familiar to anyone?

Seen the gantries J3 -4 N, J3-(M42 N turn off) and J2-1S , BUT aint been on M6B for a week or so.

Thanks, I'm not particularly familiar with the area but there were some seperate roadworks shortly afterwards (before the M1 jct) which I would assume were the jct 2-1 ones. This seemed to be there all on its own a few miles before those: one sign, one gantry, lanes narrow for a short while.

s3am--- m1 , OR M6- from scouse land i'd figure out M6 -M1 ,and there were SPECS poles on M6 just afrter J2 , WAITING FOR A CAMERA.

I saw some empty SPECS poles on the M6 'north' bound a couple of weeks back, not far off the M1. Don't think they had cameras on.

They are there for the roadworks. The SPECS go up before the roadworks get put in and left there for a while afterwards as well.

If there is a 50 sign up, take care past them. The last one is just before the junction with the M42, after that its clear.
