Being caught by multiple speed cameras
Discussion
If you are caught by multiple speed cameras on the same road, is it treated as one offence or as multiple separate offences? It seems to me that it should be treated as one offence but I have had a discussion with some people who believe it would be treated as multiple offences. Has this been tested in court?
Sorry if this is something that has been discussed many times before but I could not find the answer.

I think a motorcyclist was caught running a set of cameras and got sent to court for all of them. But it was decided it was one offence as the speed was similar for all the cameras (aparently there was a run of speed cameras on one road) and as such was treated as a continuous offence.
However if they can prove you stopped or was on more than one road etc then each would be treated as seperate.

Yes it has.
Offences committed within one journey.
Obviously, dependent on the details.
So if I were to drive from London to Manchester without taking a break and was flashed by every camera on the journey, that would be one offence ? Surely not. Or. I'm driving up the M11 and run at illegal speed through 4 consecutive sets of average speed cameras. Only one offence ? What If I trip the first and last only but am O.K. through 2 and 3 ? One offence ? Doesn't sound like the UK I thought I knew. Can someone explain ?
