Taxi drivers lose appeal over Tower Bridge speeding fines
Discussion
Seven taxi drivers lost their appeal in the High Court that the "black border" surrounding the 20mph signs over Tower Bridge rendered the signs illegal and the limit with them. However, the judge ruled that it was not a border, but the housing for the lighting system.
The City of London Police announced that they will now proceed with the 12,000 speeding cases previously suspended awaiting the judgement.

Didn't a Police Officer got off with speeding (in Yorkshire, I think) because the sign had a black border?

Do you know what the incredibly stupid thing is in all of this?
The slower you force the traffic to travel on this bridge, the more long term damage will be done to its structure.
Madness!

The funniest thing is seeing the cyclists speeding past the cars. It's caused far, far worse congestion as a result. I think it is utterly ridiculous.
