3 strikes and i'm out!!!

well, had an NIP today, puts me on 12 points. All for speeding, but all no more that 37 in a 30 (and all on a 30 mph duel carrage way not the same one!!)
It's my second 12 point tot up and last time the court let me off with a £70 fine as i said i need my car for my work.
Is it true you can't use the same reason twice?
I'm facing a ban aren't i?

Do you deserve it? I bet I could find at least a million more drivers in the UK who are much more deserving!
You can use the same reason twice. I remember reading about a year ago who was on 20+ points, thus he must have missed totting up 5 or 6 times.
when u got caught the first time, did u think omg, I'm going to get banned if i keep driving like a tw?t and breaking the speed limit or did u think yeehaa ! great!, going to get banned so can lose my job and get a push bike ??
suspect that a spell with no licence might convince you to slow down in residential areas, or you can hit some pedestrian instead...
chatted with some tyre fitter who needed his licence and is ultra careful and slow and is keeping his licence and his job, seems he has learnt his lesson to save the speed for the race tracks....

Nothing like kicking a man when he's down, eh ?
And how do you know the roads were residential ? We've got 30 limits on dual and three lane carriageways in non-residential areas round here.
It doesn't always pay to be so quick to judge when you are not in possession of the facts..

I know what your saying but the guy/gal has had 24 points, a possible 8 nicks.....if the penny hasn't dropped by now, he/she is something of a fool irrelevant of the known facts.

I know what you are saying, I just don't see what's to be gained by rubbing the guys nose in it, that's all..

I assume you've little experience of areas overpopulated cameras, where you can find a camera less than every mile. I can think of a few places where its such a distraction, I can't imagine how they are doing anything for safety.

I might get one too, even though my licence is clean at the moment.

A constant flurry of NIP's arriving on the doormat hasn't done the trick, perhaps a bit of nose rubbing will.

The penny may have dropped but it takes time to destroy the political careers of all those that support these evil laws.

He live in Staffordshire. This also have same course (with same ADIs at £300 per day in earnings - we did an FOI to find out budget und margins
) But where LanCASH£re showed a little integrity by increasing cut off to 38 mph for the course option to save a licence "in time" (their words
) - Staffs I think retain the 35 mph cut off. Like LanCASH£re - the course rake in revenue which rather undermine what ist probably the best of these courses where offered (because they actually teach COAST
) und like LanCASH£re .. Staffs I think do cluster "money boxes" along dual carriageways und try to conceal them behind bus shelters und rectangular signs. We even noted that Lancs did not even put in the tell tale road markings at some Gatsos when our football crazed sons went to watch a football match at Blackburn's stadium. Ist very easy for a speed to creep up on a empty dual carriageway which may have been 40 mph once (as ist usual case for Lancs
) und certainly should not give you cause to post the drivel I quoted above
However, had I been in the OP's situation.. useful gadgets like origin/RA or a download to a Sat Nav .. would have been wisest investment

Done what 'trick', Einstein? I don't read that he's had any accidents -- his "crime" is being a serial non-camera spotter not a dangermeister. Punishment: loss of livelihood, House? Family?
Contrast that with the other thread of the uninsured driver who was actually involved in an accident -- it would appear his sort are left to ply their trade unabated by the police because they're a little bit difficult to sort out.

Ain't that the truth. As soon as you give the police 'targets', of course they're going to pick the easiest crimes to solve.
Getting away with it in this country only involves a willingness to break every rule possible to avoid detection while avoiding any serious (e.g. violent) offences. If you make it too difficult for the police, they won't have the time.
Of course having a job, a mortgage, being on the electoral register etc. all count heavily against this, so it's only the workshy scum who can do it...

Interesting you should say that. I think we have had threads on here again and again about un-insured vehicles being siezed and crushed and that ANPR picks those out. VH may have the national figues etc but its at least a few a day in my division and who knows county wide. Siezure of un-insured vehicles is a performance indicator. Speeding tickets in my area are not.
Steady on guys!!!!!!
We all slag off scameras until one of us it caught out......
ALL points have been obtained on duel carriageways, and all were SP30’s. 6 of which were from a police van on the a500 in Stoke. ALL points have not exceeded 37 in a 30.
I hit twelve points, went to court – and kept my licence. Month later 3 came off.
I got caught again on Chester new road, Liverpool doing 35 on a duel carriageway that I honestly thought was a 40 at 6.35am on a totally empty road (except for my mate 10 minutes behind who also got caught by the same camera doing 37) putting me back up to twelve.
Since my court appearance I have been very careful not to exceed the limit. Not careful enough I guess!!
