How will the Insurance Company look on 6 points or a ban. Which one will get the thumbs down?

A ban is pretty nasty on insurance policies tbh... (dont believe anyone that says it doesnt effect it, you have to declare for 5 years) and IMO is worse than 6 points.

Morning all!
Let's just presume for a moment that you had been pulled for speeding (over 100 in a 70) and were staring down the barrel of the Court's decision. IF you were presented with the choice of a short ban or 6 points which would you prefer?

In the real world, you wouldn't get that sort of choice.
You'd have the choice of not naming the driver and getting an MS90 and 3 points on your licence, or taking the rap and getting a short ban.
Having checked the insurance companies an MS90 loads your premium much more (50%) than a short ban.
I understand that you don't (unfortunately) have a choice between the two but interested to hear other peoples point of view.
I think you're right - insurnace is probably going to be the biggets issue. I looked into insurance costs with my insurer and 6 points put up the overall premium by 20% but the ban increased it by 100%!!!
