I'm looking for the most accurate piece of kit that provides the very best detection. Preferably wire free so it looks very neat and tidy.

I'm interested in Radar, Laser & GPS methods, be they bolt-ons or not. I'm also quite happy to have Sat Nav built in.

I've currently got an S6R Neo which was ok but I let the updates expire and it is very cumbersome.

I'm looking to buy tomorrow so no rush LOL!

Cheers,

David

Technology has moved on a bit now we have the GPS based devices these days, but nonetheless my Non-GPS Bel550 Euro has never once let me down in the 7 years I've owned it.

Of course a Non GPS device can't detect SPECS cameras, but on the other hand my mate's Road Angel triggers against every camera Gantry on the M25, whereas my trusty 550 alerts me just to the ones which are active (not that it's pretty hard to exceed 70 on the M25 even if you wanted to!)

Radar and Laser detectors are about to be outlawed in the u.k. The only allowable ones will be GPS based like Talex.

Origin B2 with the radar attachment and "garage door opener" should see you right - it'll cost you a few quid and may not be strictly legal if they ever get around to making the proposed amendments law, but what price your license?

So we might as well all buy jammers then.

Well put lambocop! Couldn't agree more - inappropriate use of speed kills! Don't like the look of those prolaser 3 thingys!

I gather the story with jammers is that there are a few types that do work but there are a whole load more that are sold as jammers but actually do bugger all. These are the ones you find at trade shows, market stalls and car boot sales - at least that is where I have seen them. I dont use one. The only thing I have is the laser detector in my snooper s4. If Eric Bristow is aiming at me out of the side of his van it just sits there but if i'm at the level crossing and the train goes by it goes berzerk. At least it is pretty good as a GPS alerter.

Lambocop.....I agree in many ways...especial about inappropriate speed.

However, this weekend I very nearly had an accident going through some specs cameras because I was monitoring my speed so thoroughly...then typically having realised more of my time should be looking on the road I had the shock of my life when I got to the last camera to realise I was going nearly at 50 (in a 40mph zone of the M25) - I;m hoping my prior stint at the 'advinsed' 30mph section will balance me out.

So it looks like if I'm unlucky I'll have 3 points on my licence...all for looking at the road ahead of me. I'm so angry because I had a clean license since I got it 13 years ago. Now I feel criminalised.

It hasn't made me think I was driving too fast...it's made me feel victimised for trying to be careful....and I know will make me a very nervous driver for a good time. Marveleloous isn't it? nervous instead of cautious?

I wonder what will happen when some one gets killed as a result of monitoring their speed too closely? Hopefully some MP will be up for corporate manslaughter as a result of not thoroughly thinking through their actions when they signed SPECS off as acceptable...then again when the companies installing & monitoring the cameras get their backsides sued by the affected families...maybe then something will happen.

1. Eyes.
2. Memory.
3. Common sense - don't speed in areas you don't know.

Loads of companies claim that they detect lasers.......Yes they do......BUT......If you have detected the laser guess what the laser has also detected
My bel550 detected plenty of readings refracted through the windscreens of cars ahead of me and oncoming cars before I reached the mobile site so that's not entirely true.

Top unit the 550, I ran one alongside an Origin B2 and a Lidatek in my Impreza and it saw me right on several occasions.
The boss also ran one in his 911 but got annoyed with the number of false alarms
