Van?
Aye.
I'd have no cause to whine if I'd missed a bright yellow box on a stick but ironically enough, I looked round for a split second to admire the beautiful scenery and there was a slight kink in the road. Once in the sights I was a gonna.
So much for ACPO guidelines.
So much for "forming a prior opinion".

It does fall on the line... doesn't mean it helps the public perception though.

Caught at the ludicrously rapid velocity of 35 mph on Sunday.
Its your own fault (for going to North Wales)
Well indeed. It is rather tricky to get to Snowdon without entering North Wales though sadly.
The heinous crime was committed on the A5 as I passed through Llangollen.

ah misread where it was you were nicked...
Unlucky in any case.
I was stopped by my local force yesterday at lunchtime. Crafty boys that they are they hid their car, didn't have high viz on and were standing at a bus stop at the bottom of a hill!
The road is a wide dual carriageway with 2 lanes in each direction and houses set back with their own service roads. Limit? 30mph. My speed? 39mph.
Lucky for me their prosecution threshold on that road is 40mph.
We had a short chat about the lack of pedestrians and any other vehicles. I said I didn't think my speed inappropriate for the conditions and he didn't disagree, just reminded me to watch my speed as they'll be back on that road again. All in all I think that was ok.

Don't just roll over and pay it, whatever you do!
They NIP'd me for the same speed back in October. Went down the PACE route and it hasn't been taken to court thus far, but if it is I'm going to make damn sure it costs them more in admin and officer's time than they ever recover from me in fines and costs!
edited to add... I was A5 Llangollen, too... obviously a hotbed of dangerously reckless driving that must be controlled, whatever the cost!*
*either that, or a nice little earner

Sounds about right Quinny.
A little irksome considering some of the poor driving seen that day. Not least a couple of occasions stuck behind dawdlers in the nationals where I decided it was unsafe to overtake but some idiot screamed past the lot of us, narrowly avoiding the (heavy on the anchors) oncoming traffic.

Send the tourist office (info@visitwales.co.uk) an email saying you'll never visit again until things improve, if enough people keep telling them they may eventually start to take notice.
FWIW I was also caught on the A5, albeit in Corwen. They got me from behind (ooerrr
) and I never saw them at all. Either I was so dozy that I never saw the van on the opposite side of the road as I drove past or they had gone to some lengths to hide out of sight where they couldnt be seen. I know which version I think is correct.....

in ridiculous. I'd write to the Welsh tourist board expressing your disgust if I were you.
