Whats the legality of driving through temp. traffic lights if they aren't working. My mate (not me honestly officer) drove through lights after waiting for about 5 mins.4 way lights, traffic backed up in all directions.Had to overtake about 8 cars infront of me, oops I mean him!! before everyone else followed like sheep. Is it down to common sense or can you still get pulled? What about temp lights if theres no cars waiting in the oppisite direction? (not that I'd do a thing like that!!)

Temp lights are the same as perm lights. Same law same offence regardless. If they are stuck or not working then thats fair enough if you drive through them.

What about how they are powered though? Wasn't there a recent thread suggesting they had to be mains powered and not generator powered, or something like that? If I had to wait more then 5 mins I'd think something was wrong with them, how long should you wait? Von?

IIRC, only permanent had to be mains-powered, temporary can be generator powered - Streaky

What's the definition of "stuck" for traffic lights? How long do you have to wait?
