A120 today, odd positioning of Traffic Car
Discussion
Driving home this evening going east on the A120 I notice a Volvo Traffic car parked up in the opposite carriageway, on an on slip road. It was parked 90degrees to the road with its passenger window down in full view. I was doing 70ish and saw the car miles off but I wondered what they were doing. If they were checking speed of cars on the opposite carriageway they were parked very oddly as it wouldn’t give an easy run on to the carriageway (they were on the grass), but if they were gunning in my direction then don’t they have to stop you, and how would they do that if they were on the other side?
Just thought it strange,
Thoughts please

Sounds like they were trying to be high profile visible. The window being down suggest to me they were looking for a particular even that they had information was comming their way. Perhaps a VIP visit or to report progress on something they had been told was happening on the road.
Could be a number of things. Window could also have been down if it was a warm day.

True,
It just seemed a little odd. Never seen this before, if they were using a gun do they have to stop you out of interest?

i think if you get caught with a gun it can only be acted upon if they follow you and stop you, for example they canot get you the next day and say i caught you speeding yesterday.
this might be wrong however, sure its right though!
