LTI 2020'd, a few questions and comments

Yay, finally got zapped.
Coming along a country road and my partner and I saw a florescent jacket rustling behind the small a few hundred yards away behind a tree. Already been had but was slowing down and saw the marked up Scooby parked up behind the foilage, and the Plod walking back to the car reading the device
So, decided to stop to see what he had got me at. 67mph.
I said "bang on the guidelines there then" with a grin, but he said he was mainly after 75mph+ people anyway, ie, people really tanking it along from the local pub.
Yes, this is North Yorkshire, the land of following ACPO guidelines and police discretion
Was just wondering after though, wish I'd asked him about prior opinion of speed, since I was so close to being "legal" as it were.
Also, is it the situation that any speeder he deemed to fast would be pursued, or would they use a NIP thingy?
When I saw him I thought I'd best save myself the 2 week wait and stop to see, but then I realised TrafPol usually pull you over to do that, or is that not always the case?
Either way nice to see N.York plod earning respect from motorists and following guidelines and using discretion, and being more than friendly when I pulled up and saw a smile!

Hehe, I think his intention were the crotch rocketeers and had otherwise ignored me, I just stopped to see what he got me at just out of curiosity
What pleased me most was that the display of discretion and intention of catching dangerous speeders, probably the ones that upon forming a prior opinion of speeding he already knew he would be pulling them over, and just had the speed data for empirical evidence!
Hey ho, if having them scattered in rural 30's where there are a few houses and not much else, with a flow of maybe 20 cars per hour at that time, your not going to achieve much more than peeving off the odd local for sitting around trying to make a resident the victim of getting their foot down along the now 500 yard 30mph extension into the national speed limit zone.

I had a day out in North Yorkshire a month or so ago and I found it most pleasing - people drive normally rather than simply sticking to the limit everywhere because they're scared of being done. I'll certainly be up there again spending my money rather than Cumbria or N.Wales.
Strange how N.Yorks has one of the top safety records in the country. I challenge any lurking scamera partnership members to explain that. Go on - ball is in your court!
