Afternoon All,

Now that I have had my motor for the required "let everyone see its new before I put my stupid Chav wish I hadnt bought it but I did" personal plate on, I have gone to get the documents and everything is present and correct other than the retention certificate.

Can I get replacement for this or is that it and I have effectively lost the plate?

Any advice, as always, greatly appreciated.

From the DVLA (SOM) website

What happens if I lose my Certificate of Entitlement (V750)?
DVLA will issue a duplicate certificate if the registration mark has not been put onto a vehicle. Once it is on a vehicle you no longer need the V750 as the rights to the registration mark go to the registered keeper shown on the V5C registration document.

If you require a duplicate certificate of entitlement V750 please write to DVLA Personalised Registrations, SV2, Swansea, SA99 1DN and we will issue a FREE duplicate certificate.

If you require a duplicate retention certificate (V778) please write to DVLA Cherished Transfer section, Unit 1B, Swansea vale 2, SA99 1BW.

Well I Thank you very much, a concise and helpful reply if ever there was one.

I've written the letter already.

Thanks again
