when you were "slightly" over the speed limit on a Motorway, but saw it as you drew level so slowed and pulled infront of it and into lane 1 for it to overtake you....are you likely to hear anything if they didn't stop you and made no comment at the time??

At least in "the good old days", such action would likely be seen by Traffic BiB as indicating that you were situationally-aware and driving proportionately. Slowing from 90 (ish) on the M4 in good driving conditions immediately an unmarked closed behind me, earned me merely a "70 Thank you" display across the rear window when they finally overtook - Streaky

I was hurtling up the A27 last year as I approached a speed camera, so I needed to slow back down, and at the same time happened to go slowly past a silver Merc. I looked across to see the Bibs in the unmarked and breathed a sigh of relief that the camera had saved my skin.

Took it easy for 5 miles until they spotted a dodgy Mondeo swaying all over the place which they duly stopped.

Why do the police get such nice cars out of taxpayers' money!? It's a flipping disgrace, etc., etc.

over took an unmarked car at 120mph up bluebell hill one night. It pulled out and drove so well behind me that I thought it must be a copper, so slowed and did the 40mph when it got to the limit.

They came up behind me and said (I had the roof off) "do you know this is a police car"...urrrr, no officer, honest. "ah well, take it easy up there won't you"

Was only just talking to such a lucky individual who had a similar thing happen to them the other day. Although in their case the officer decided to tell them personally on the hard shoulder rather than by 'Post Office Screen' messenger.

Plod car was spotted parked at the top of the slip road and progress was retarded swiftly.

Early hours of the morning, dry, empty M-way and a modern well maintained car easily capable of a good few leptons.

thumbup to the BiB for their brains rather than their pens.
