Hi- having sold a car I have realised that I gave the whole the V5 document to the buyer. We had both signed and filled in all the relevant bits, but I forgot to take any part of it back. So, how can I find out if it's been re-registered ? Thanks ( & please don't call me an idiot)

Call the DVLA and ask them for information about the car's RFL or something. If they won't tell you it's because your not the owner!!

Phone the DVLA and ask. They'll probably make you put the request in writing, take a month to answer and charge you for the privilege!

Don't call you an idiot?? Ok - you're a moron!! :-) Oh, and only human too!!

Good luck.

This happened to me a couple of years ago, when selling my wife's car. Just give the DVLA a call and tell them that you have sold the car and are no longer the registered keeper. That should sort it out.

PM me the reg via my profile and I'll see if there's been a recent keeper change on the car.
