I know of a couple of jobs where offenders have been ID'd after triggering Gatsos as they make their getaway.

(Not that this is necessarily a reason for having Gatsos).

Do you mean for excess speed detection, or IDing possible offenders?

Sleeping policeman, was inadvertantly used in conjunction
with speed regulation device in the abscence of
Dixon stood on corner.

Prosecution, following a camera proving it to be the case
is One issue discussed here ad nauseum.

ID'ing possible offenders a happy co-incidence
and most likely an offence against scrotes human rights
we shall no doubt see

Is that just an off the cuff remark Streaky, or is it a declared policy and genuine intent?

How will they know? How will they prove it.

The RK will most likely show as a leasing company. Could be a private lease.

The cigarette could be one of these

Or the pipe could be empty and not charged with tobacco etc, just used as a dummy. I do believe that there are dummy cigarettes again to quell the pangs.

I'm intrigued how this will be enforceable. What a way to run a country. The answer is "a fixed penalty" now what's the question?

How exactly has this camera cut crime?

Did it prevent one single wrong doing?

NO

It may have provided some evidence to assist the police in finding the ofenders but it has not cut crime.

Sadly when/if caught their legal defence will get them off with a slapped wrist and a lesser fine that the one for speeding.

It will be like every thing else to do with motoring. if they say you were doing it you will have to prove them wrong. You are no longer innocent until proven guilty.

Certainly its a happy-clappy news story for scameraville to chuckle over
'oh the cameras arent' all bad
theyv'e caught those thieving pikies where the Police coulden't.

'say, perhaps the cameras arent' such a bad idea after all
you know a bit like putting lights on all our roundabouts a few years back'

yep, strange how that most basic of human rights seems to have been steamrollered in the name of revenue collection, and for what? how exactly have we benefited?
We have fewer deaths on the roads and much less street crime since all this CCTV was introduced, don't you read the papers? wink

I hardly think prolific distraction burglars are going to get fined £60 laugh

Oh and catching burglars does cut crime.

And has it harmed the investigation into the series of burglaries or has it helped it ?

That was my first thought. Oh Goody, we have a picture of them. NOW all we need is a traffic cop to find them?!

Neither!

You will obviously disagree with me so maybe you could explain what this has done so far to help the victims of the crime?

How much closer the BiB are to an arrest?

Wake up & smell the coffee, this could be a vital piece of evidence.
