front flashing camera at night
Discussion
I always was under the impression that speed camera's were only support to flash from the back, thus not blinding the driver but there are a couple camera's here in my area who do flash from the front.
I've just finished 4 nightshifts and been at least flashed 5 or 6 times from the front, which at high speeds in the middle of a dark unlid road is rather unpleasend.
I've heard other collegues complain about them as well, so i was wonderingen if they are legal or if there's a place were we go put a complaint down perhaps ?

If the flashes were purple in colour, the camera(s) was a Truvelo. The Truvelo is type-approved and a ticket may be issued. If teh flashes were white, those cameras (Gatsos) are not approved for front-flashing and a ticket will not be issued (or can be challenged, if issued). You could be lucky or on your bike for a while - StreakyI've just finished 4 nightshifts and been at least flashed 5 or 6 times from the front, which at high speeds in the middle of a dark unlid road is rather unpleasend.

Dutch
But living in Essex. And some roads here are dark due to the small amout of lightposts and when i'm speeding in our "company vehicle's" i'm not looking for traffic camera's but concentrating on the roads/traffic so sometimes you don't see the camera's untill you're close, but even if we would see them ealier we wouldn't slow down anyway, so we will get that annoying and blinding frontflash anyhow.
And i'm not driving bikes by the way, i get either flashed in a big yellow truck, or in one of those :

Hence the not slowing down for camera's
