Strange French Camera??
Discussion
Just got back from the Alps and passed (flashed) by a small camera on the bumper of a car. The car was parked at the side of the road and had a flash, about six inches square, strapped to it's rear bumper.
Never seen one like this before. The car was white with it's hazards on for anyone else passing this way (on the road from Bourg en Bresse to Dijon)
There was an electronic sign saying, in French, 'For your safety, automatic radar', so I slowed down, even though I wasn't going too fast. As I saw the suspicious looking car I loked at my speedo which was indicating 132kph (130kph limit). I still got flashed by the thing. My speedo is pretty accurate, 96mph corresponds with 95mph GPS (checked on track obviously) so I'm pretty confident I was no more than 2kph over the speed limit.
Ah well, unlikely I'll hear anything about it but if I do I'll be asking for a few more details than just a picture of my ugly mug.

I saw one of these on the Caen ringroad. It was in the back of a dark coloured pug 406 estate parked behind the green concrete marker of a slip road. It flashed at me too (mind you I was about 30 klicks over the limit). It was very busy as it was flashing about once every 2-3 seconds....
