Solicitor recommendation in the south east?
Discussion
I was stopped on New Years Eve for allegedly doing 42 in a 30 zone (the officer was in a loan car from the local Hyundai dealership (?!) that was parked down a side road whilst he was stood (hidden) on the traffic island in said side road out of sight?). I produced my documents within 7 days as required and then heard nothing until last Friday when a court summons finally arrived for the end of this month? I'm sure I wasn't speeding, the underhand way he went about it and the fact that he became difficult when I asked if the gun (Unipar SL700 apparently?) had been calibrated recently, makes me want to plead not guilty. I've looked thru pepipoo which has some good advice but ultimately I'd rather rely on a professional who knows what they are looking at. Can anyone therefore recommend a good solicitor in the south east (East Sussex preferably) for me to speak to?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Unfortunately even if you weren't speeding the CPS will make your life a misery by not providing any evidence, the device will not need to have been calibrated becasue it's 'only a guideline' (I mean, who need worry themselves about whether or not the device is actually working properly?), and then even if you prove your points in court (after all, YOU need to prove your innocence remember), the magistrates will put their fingers in their ears and go 'lah, lah, lah - I can't HEAR YOU!'.
Apart from those issues, you'll be fine.
