ANPR Vans on A249 (Kent) at around 18:30 last night?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this forum and this is my first post, so be kind!
Anyway, I was driving up Detling Hill near Maidstone (A249) towards Sittingbourne last night. There is a 50mph fixed speed camera at bottom, which has been there for years. However, as I went up the hill (doing slightly more than 50) I turn one of the bends and there was a plain white van with two cameras in the back and a police pursuit vehicle infront of it (Volvo I think).
As the van had no markings on it, I was a little unsure if this was a mobile speed camera van or one of these new ANPR vans?
Did anyone else see this van/police car set up and can they confirm if it was an ANPR? If not, I may have gotten 3 points
Thanks for any replies
Cheers

Similar but it was just plain white with absolutely no markings, from what I remember. The cameras didn't really look like cctv cameras either as they more more circular.
I know the speed camera vans in Kent are quite well marked, which is why I thought it may be an ANPR instead. Also the presence of a pursuit car made me think that they would chase anyone with dodgy MOT, tax, etc.
Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to wait to see if the NIP drops through the letter box!
