ok,m so along with all the other criminal motorists I sit in the M4 buslane.

So there we all are, myself and probably another 2000 people sat stationary while 3 airline crew of 15 go past, 6 people in cabs, 1 real bus (empty) and the odd biker (no problem).

My question is twofold.

1. why, when they have invested so much money in the electronic billboards dont they say "use buslane" when the traffic is almost at a standstill.

2. what would be the result if everyone just used it, could they administer the fines?

as an aside...what would the penalty be for just driving down it, if no points then i'd just do it & treat it as a tollroad!

1. Because people would use it all the time.

2. Yes, 3 points and a £60 fine. Somewhere I read that bus lanes are becoming a £100 fine.

If the road is that congested just find another route in (like coming off at Heston Services and taking the service road through Southal/Heston onto the A4 wink

Buslanes are a complete waste of time but you will get nicked if you drive in them yes
