Dont know if it has been posted before but please bear with me.
About 20 mins ago I had just finished working at a mates house and he went outside to turn on the water. He shouts to me that there is a traffic warden writing out a ticket. He is pleading with the warden as its getting printed out of his machine. I jump into the car and drive off before its fully printed, bagged and stuck on my car.

Will I be expecting it in the post or have I got away with it?

Regards,

Neil

IIRC unless it's a copper it has to be stuck on the car or handed to you, i.e. served upon you

Has to be stuck on the window or given to you before you drive off.

So you get a fine as warden says to his boss "yup, I gave him the ticket". You deny it, his word against yours. What happens? How does he prove that he gave it to you?

On the flipside, any tickets you get, you could just deny ever seeing them, your word against theirs etc.

This is true...

A friend of mine was a traffic warden and he would often tell people "I haven't yet got your tax disc number, as soon as I type that into my machine, print it and stick it on your windscreen then you will have a fine so I suggest you leave very quickly".

They have to be honest about it and say whether or not the ticket was served but from all accounts he seemed to be the only quy who operated in that way which is disturbing....

Wife had a parking ticket recently and they now take photos of your car with the ticket attached. I would suggest that unless they provide this evidence that they cannot claim that they served the ticket

I've seen quite a few tickets being stuck on cars all over the uk in the last year or two (a few on mine) the wardens always seem to take several digital photos of the car these days, showing windows (to show valid permits not displayed and of course the ticket stuck to the windscreen) any signage or lines that might indicate the parking offence and also the reg of the car.

so there shouldnt be any cause for concern with a "story" from the warden that the ticket was indeed stuck on your car.

I actually requested photos of my car when I got ed for a £100 fine for parking in a residents only bay in islington, it was fair and quare to be honest, I plain and simple didnt see the sign I parked directly in front of (shown nice and clearly by the pics they sent me!) D'oh!

Does that mean if the car's not taxed, you can't get a parking ticket? ideahehe
