mr LadyMan wishes to lower the limit in line with europe to 5o mg per 100 ml

next weeks initiative will involve the empleyment of a man with a flag on the front of the car to walk ahead

except in europe you dont get banned for 50 mg you get a fine only serious offences get banned

i hate the spin doctor with all the charm and charisma of a slug

i stick to the rules i have 1 drink max and i am fine

been breatherlised at least 5 times all fine

It's a non-answer to the problem.

It's really quite clever; it's hard to argue against, it's easy to do, and it looks like you're doing something.

Only problem is that people who are over the limit at 100 will still be over the limit at 50; what have we achieved? Well, apart from the criminalisation of a number of people who, are doing something that while possibly unwise, has been considered legal for the past 50 or so years. Go us!

I wonder how many people who test positive are way over the limit, and therefore unlikely to be deterred by ANY available legal limit?

I'd suggest more rigorous enforcement of the current (pragmatic and sensible) limit, but that'd cost lots of money and maybe distract trafpol from speed enforcement.

I imagine they will bring in fixed penalties only for breeching the lower limits - oh what a surprise another source of revenue - Cynical? Yes hehe

Sooner that than points but, yes, that's probably right. Cue the 'I think anyone who drinks and drives should be banned/shot/jailed' without thinking about it.

As CJ says a typically lazy and useless reaction to a non problem. The people who are getting bladdered and driving are causing the problem not those who fail current or planned limits.

Who cares?

The chances of getting pulled over by a real plod are so small these days that I'm not surprised more people are drink driving.

But you can't put a scamera up to detect the offence can you?
