Hello,

I not sure of all the facts, but the husband of my wife's friend was pulled over by ANPR.

Apparently no insurance indicated for the car.

I am having a guess here, but they run a company and therefore have their own company insurance to drive any vehicle owned leased etc etc.

If the car reg is NOT actually specified, does this mean every time they go past a police ANPR check point they will be pulled ?

Is this a hole in ANPR checking

Thanks

The majority of company insurance policies still require that they be informed of the plates of the vehicles owned/leased and used by the company. This gap is more likely to be that whoever they are insured with aren't a member of the Motor Insurance Database, which currently isn't compulsory, and that way the insurance cannot be automatically checked.

It may be they keep getting pulled over by ANPR. They could contact their insurer to ask if they are members, and to check if they have the reg. no. If they have the policy number with them it can be checked there and then by a telephone call. A pain, I know, but until it is compulsory for insurers to take part there will be such situations. There are very few who aren't members now, only one big one I know of.
